Thoughts on a grade for this O-105? I'm not sure how the obverse neck/face marks affect the grade and would appreciate your opinion...

Thanks for looking!

Just FYI: I always look at this grading guide for each Coin Type from our CCF US Coin Facts (left Navigation bar):

Capped Bust Half Dollar General Grading Standards

G4 Good: LIBERTY discernible on head band.

VG8 Very Good: Minimum of three letters in LIBERTY must be clear.

F12 Fine: LIBERTY complete.

VF20 Very Fine: LIBERTY is sharp. Shoulder clasp is clear.

EF40 Extremely Fine: LIBERTY sharp and strong. Hair details show.

AU50 About Uncirculated: Slight trace of wear on cap, cheek, and hair above the forehead, claws, wing tops, and the head.

MS60 Uncirculated:No trace of wear. Light blemishes.

MS63 Select Uncirculated:Some distracting contact marks or blemishes in prime focal areas. Luster may be impaired.

It looks VF details to me, with some damage and probably some cleaning in several areas. Nevertheless, the overdate is very cool, and it clearly saw use in general commerce. Enjoy!

Just look to the left of this screen (maybe scroll up). See the Red topped Navigation Bar? Just let your eyes drift down to the US Coin Facts. The mintages and grading scales are there for US coins.

You'll find there is LOTS of cool information on this site! The founders have worked VERY hard to make this site what it is today!

Thanks CCF Mom & Dad! You're the BEST!
