So I sold my 1922 no-d 2 months ago raw on ebay that was graded in this archived post: http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...chTerms=1922   I paid $100 initially and sold it for $300. Everyone graded it as AG on this forum and the buyer thought it was AG too. I was quite confident it was at least a G-4, so I gave him a 2 month return policy allowing him to send it into ANACS for authenticity. I would give him a refund if it didn't come back at least G-4 details as a genuine die 2. He took me up on it, and just reported ANACS opinion back to me yesterday. Anyone want to take a guess at what ANACS called it? |

ANACS most probably gave it a %**&%$#@ grade. How about ending the contrived suspense and just tell us .... Quote:

Nickelsearcher, these threads are mostly for entertainment and the honing of grading skills. There is no true point in outright telling the grade.

Nickelsearcher: I made it a "guess the grade" because I was surprised at the results. You certainly don't have to guess, or even read the thread if you don't want to. It was also the first time I've had any raw coins I purchased graded.
JimR nailed it, they graded it genuine die2 VG-08 details(scratched I believe). I knew it was genuine, but I didn't think it would grade that high, and the buyer of course was quite happy for $300.
