if it is raised, than it is a die crack, if not, its a gouge in the coin. please, do not touch it either way!

well it may be if its a fie break, which if it is it is one of the longest die breaks I have seen. I am guessing that is pist mint damage and not raised but it is going into the metal

Post-mint damage, rendering the coin ungradable. Although it's fairly obvious to a crack addict like myself, those with less experience should note that the "crack" stops around the sides of the stars - had it been an actual die crack, it would be continuous through that area.

You can see the raised metal to either side of the gouge over most of its' length.

It's damage. Looks like someone took a sharp knife to it. You can see how the cut pushed up metal on either side of the cut. It's worth silver content, about $8.

I just read my post from earlier and I have to appologize for all the mispelled words. I look like I am a five year old trying to type in that post
