Can't see the leaves well enough on Vic's Head but yous is one of the
sea does not meet linear edge varieties.
From Wiki

A British 1881 Penny (Victoria with hooked nose, wreath with 17 leaves - larger Britannia, sea does not meet linear edge), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £475 GBP. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch up to £4 to £80 GBP.

A British 1881 Penny (wreath with 15 leaves - larger Britannia, sea does not meet linear edge), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £700 GBP. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch up to £30 to £285 GBP.

A British 1881 Penny (Victoria with more hooked nose, wreath with 15 leaves - larger Britannia, sea does not meet linear edge), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £900 GBP. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch up to £60 to £400 GBP.

No hope I took a real close look and I can see 15 leaves up to the back of her ear... As for the hooked nose not familiar enough to say...

There are three obverse varieties of British penny listed in the Spink catalogue for 1881. Type 9 is fairly common (£4 in Fine), Type 10 is the scarcest (£30 in Fine) and Type 11 is slightly more common (£25).

The differences between them are obscure, like the number of leaves in the wreath around Victoria's head and the vein pattern of those leaves. I'm by no means an expert in variety-hunting and it's hard to be sure from the pics, but I think yours is Type 10: 15 leaves, veins both raised and recessed. Type 11 is similar but lacks the recessed veins, and also has a weak circle going around the rim, especially under the portrait.

I suspect your e-mailers are better at variety-spotting than I am and are sure it's a Type 10 or 11.

Libertad, an auction is just that, but at same time Theres nothing wrong with people making offers ... Like I say , if you want to make the offer then place the bid to that amount..You might win it for less... If item does not sell then its open.

Its an attractive penny at that. I might make a play on it just based on the eye appeal.
