Well, I received this coin today. Along with it comes both good and bad news. The sellers pictures weren't very good, and he had given it a VF grade. In hand, it is probably the strongest SLQ that I own(outside of my type set examples). It even has about 20% remaining luster! Bad news is that I believe it was cleaned(lightly to moderately) at some point...not bad enough to kill the luster which is good. The pictures don't show the luster, but what do you all think of the grade?

Nice EF-45.

Close to a 40, but looking it over I change my assessment to a 45.

I think its an excellent coin. It wouldn't bother me if it was lightly cleaned.

Wow - that is a beaut!

Excellent detail on that one! Excellent beading all the way around, some head detail, dress across the right leg, etc. Looks like a glimpse of vertical lines in the center of the shield, but I'd like to see a better pic of the reverse. With those 2 pics, it looks like more wear on the reverse than the obverse.

I'll agree with EF45 and maybe, just maybe a shot at AU50.

I think EF40, and looks to have attractive toning, too.

Thanks guys! I think I agree with AFcop and wheatguy at XF45 because of the obverse detail and luster. The reverse however is weaker than the obverse, but I will try to get a better photo up. The hammer price was $63, so it was a pretty good deal imo.
