The only thing I could tell for sure is the date: VS 1994 or AD 1937. Whether it is Nepal or one of the Indian states I don't know. This could be a medal rather than a coin as well.

I've tried to put together the monogram, "GS", with places that use Vikrama calendar, and so the date, 1937, would be significant. I haven't been successful.

It couldn't be George the Sixth, could it? The guy pictured is someone else...

Found it, in "Unusual World Coins", Indian States. It's an "unofficial" or "medallic" nazarana rupee in the name of the Maharajah of Bikanir, given to guests invited to Ganga Singh's Golden Jubilee festivities. It's listed in my old copy of UWC as "old KM# 73, KMX# M1". Prooflike restrikes are also listed, though this coin doesn't look proof.

CoinArchives currently lists only some of the gold ½ mohur versions of this coin.

Great finding Sap, thank you :)
Interesting silver and worthy medallic coin.

It reached $56 in a recent auction I just found: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...360252696310
