More and more I see questions about information that if common sense was applied would be easy........the age of the instant info and the internet is sucking the brains out of people. Get off your fat (_(_) and do some research yourself and learn from it.......just a thought.....cause it was uphill both ways to my keyboard........

Maybe questions like "How much is this PCGS MS70 Ike dollar worth?" Or this one......."Where can I buy coins online?"

This may be the information age but there there are still a huge portion of the population that are not internet savvy. For some its an accomplishment just to have found this forum..

Perhaps when someone asks 'where can I buy coins online', they are asking for a reputable dealer that some other members have had dealings with. As for 'what is this coin worth', yeah, do some research ....

Oh, friggin chill out will ya? If people want to ask questions, then they should not be discouraged through obnoxious comments like the one that started this thread. If you don't like the question, force yourself to not respond. There are other people that would be happy to assist. Id like to make a suggestion that perhaps people should read what they are intending to post, and if its obnoxious or complete jibberish, then refrain from doing so. Ooppps did I just hit a nerve 'COINSRFUN', (who btw has been identified as a valued member? )

what Crfun means is simple (IMO) : it appears that the quality component content is leaving a lot to be desired and leaves sometimes much to ones imagination. It appears priorities and importance of serious questions are many times ignored in favor of discussing coins with issues of hundreds of millions...because one of them has a funny look to it. Is It perhaps because there are only a small handful of contributors who are really knowledgable about real Canadian coinage and who are willing to give us all their knowledge and experience? I have noticed some contributors have slowly migrated to other places. Just wonder WHY

Ok, maybe I should have taken a somewhat softer approach, but I've seen other contributers (including myself) badgered and ridiculed about collecting RCM collectors stuff, or what this same contributor refers to as'grannie bait'. To each his own. Sometimes,I welcome the 'worthless' threads by contributors as its possible (and it has been proven time and time with me again) that it's something I specifically never knew nor never thought about in the past. If the content of the threads isn't as stimulating as some of its members like, then read the next and say nothing, or indeed move along, but don't post crap like what I just read above.

CCF is supposed to be a fun website about coins where you ask questions and learn. it doesn't matter if the question is "what is the coin worth?" or "what is this coin?" the person asking the question may have already done some research and found nothing.
right now, I have about 5 world coins I have NO idea about value or even what they are, I'm probably gonna ask CCF soon. and get answers. and learn. and then teach.

If you don't want to answer the question, don't answer it. It's that simple.
We are not going to remove or belittle questions just because some think they shouldn't be asked or the answer could be found elsewhere. That's silly and it's not going to happen.
This forum is designed to provide information, not tell people to go find it elsewhere.

This whole topic was designed to start an argument I refuse to engage in. If I know the answer I'll provide it. If I don't I'll watch fascinated as I learn something.
Keep asking, keep posting because even simple run of the mill threads often result in tidbits of unknown or interesting data coming forth. The thread on the Apple proofs/BU is a great example, someone who'd never seen one now would like one or two...
