Washingtons 1948 - 1964-D Franklins 1948 - 1963-D 1939, 1946 Washington An extra '50-S and 64 Washington and 1878-P, 1880-P and 1900-O Morgans for $400 cash and about $80 in trade. Now if I can find a doubled die, variety or VAM, I'll have it made! Edited by Scooby Due 04/27/2010 10:27 pm

I think you did OK Scoob. I see full sets of just the Frankies going for $375 here in my area on a regular basis. So I would say that you scored a good deal. And don't forget to look for those FBL's on the Frankies.

I think that is a very good deal.
I hope no one read this before this edit .. I counted the face value wrong.
Looks like you got some nice coins and a full set of Franklin's for around what common silver is selling for.

Quote: I counted the face value wrong. I counted it more than a few times. That is a dangerous endeavour this late in the day! I do not think this is too far from melt value. In my opinion, using melt value assumes that it is all junk. From the photos, I do not see any junk.

What you want to trade with? Please let me know. Samuel tan
<<<Actually, the OP is telling us what he had to pay AND trade for the coins. He is not looking to trade. If he was, it wouldn't matter for you anyway since the comment that I put a line through is against the forum rules for new members. Please read them and understand them before posting again. Jbuck .. your right .. captain morgan was helping me count .. I had to edit my first response, because I counted the face value wrong.
Scooby I hope no one thought I was saying these nice looking coins are junk, because before I did the edit I compared them to melt ... .I was meaning you got some nice coins for about silver price. I would buy those in a minute for the price you paid. And I know some of those quarters would fill some empty holes in my Washington Dansco.

Yeah, not too bad. The guy overestimated in his grading a little bit, and some of them will need upgrades, but I was doing the math and figuring not far from spot, I couldn't go too terribly wrong.
I need to double check for the full bells, but I'm not counting on it at the price. A couple are XF/AU, the majority are F-VF. But, it's a starter set. I only had a couple of Franklins up to this point, and they are all in mint sets.
I think the '64 Washington is possibly a doubled die and I'll post it a little later. I don't have anything to compare it to.
I spent the majority of time last night getting pictures of the 1900-O Morgan.

I didn't take it that way. I understood what you meant. It's all good! There are a few that are a little bit of a let down, but like I said, it's a good starter set. So, I'm cool with it. Oh, I meant to mention this - in the slots for the '53 Franklins, they are all 3 '53-S's. And in the '56 slot was another '60-D.
