The price they go for will impact if it will be a good deal or not. I suggest you know what you feel is a good price to pay is, and keep that amount in mind when bidding.

I think you did pretty well, and it is a nice coin. A good thing to do is research and learn about the coin and series you are buying, and then you will a lower chance of getting ripped.

you didnt get ripped...particularly since shipping is free....I think you paid the expected price at auction.
I wouldnt go much higher on the second auction. Shipping is 2.50...bid's at 4.50....that's about max for a second 63 Franklin for you.
Bossy aint I? :)

constructive criticism taken here well j.h.s. you know, the funny thing is, I had just read a featured article on (124) This link is not allowed by the Staff DOTcom about the 1963 Franklin half and how it could possibly be "rare", becasue people knew it was the last year franklins would be minted and the last year 90% silver would be in coins... the article touched on the possibility that a lot of the 63's may have been melted... anyway, I was pleasantly surprised at the price and it was my first franklin purchase. only other franklin I own was handed down in a whitman, 53-d AU55 maybe I can replace the 52-d with this one that was in my type set. I wonder if all franklins can be acquired for that price in that state..

Personally I try to buy rolls of them or more then one in a auction, you usually get something not expected. I bought 2 rolls and got 3 1963 in ms and also 1948 in ms as well all at melt price a few months back. I saw that on there as well, but I still will taking a walking liberty over a Franklin any day ;)
