I purchased 2 boxes of pennies from a local bank today. I did not open the boxes before I returned home as I deal with this bank regularly and have never had a issue with them. When I got home I noticed that one of the boxes I got was sealed with the RCM paper seal still intact. I opened it up and sure enough...50 rolls of 2010 cents in the clear mint wraps. Not what I wanted as I was looking for rolls for Coin roll hunting. Ahh well I thought. I checked each roll with a magnet. No Magnetic Coins. Sigh!

Is there any other errors, varieties or whatever that I should look for with 2010 Canada cents? If Not I will leave them sealed and keep a few rolls for myself and return them for a different box on Saturday.

Thank you for any info.

well you should at least go through the ones you will return to the bank, you never know what you can find.

Hi cladhunter,
I would check for the serif at the bottom of the 1 in 2010,all the one I ever seen are without but some collectors believe that some were issued with a serif at the foot of the 1.Keep us informed if you do find some.If so,I would appreciate if you could put one aside for my collection. Thanks and good hunting.

You could post a few rolls in the FS section as a favour to those who collect.

Is it he magnetic or non-magnetic ones that are rarer? Or does it not matter? I just got 10 rolls but I only need one coin.

Magnetic is rarer.

I had a box of 2008 in the clear mint wraps (box also had the RCM paper tape intact) and didn't think to go through them for anything interesting, and wasn't around long enough to know about the FS section. Was there anything I should have looked for in the 2008's? I might be able to get another box from them :)

Aren't the magnetic 2010 cents are only in the sets from the mint? I thought the scuttlebutt was that there aren't any in circulation.

I knew there were both mag, and non-mag, but nothing as to rarity, nor whichis in the mint issued.

I suppose you got rid of these a while ago...if not I'd be interested in two rolls. I recently grabbed a box of 2009's in the clear shrink wrap and haven't returned it yet. I'd be happy to trade you or buy two rolls of yours. :)
