Hello, I came across this coin today and noticed some unusual(?) markings on the back. I am somewhat new to coin collecting and am still learning the "lingo".
I noticed a few things on the back of this 2000 penny - a mark below the bust that looks a little bit like an arrow, another mark coming from the neck line on the left and the absence of a bead above the T in Elizabeth.
Thank you both! It's amazing what kind of damage shows up on a scan that is not viable to the naked eye. Are missing beads along the circumference commonly seen? (And is "bead" the correct word)
The missing bead is intriguing in the picture it looks missing. Id like to see other pics of the missing bead . Welcome aboard, lots of knowledgeable people around here.
