Poll Question
I was just thinking about it - I know VOLUMES could be and have been printed on the subject, but I was wondering if a "Common Counterfeit" thread could be started - not to point out coins "on the market" that people think are counterfeit, but rather for coins of which many known counterfeits have been made, and what to watch out for. To me, this is an interesting subject, and it seems like it might be a good thread with a lot of sub-threads as it gets populated?

Thank you for hearing my suggestion!

This is what I have been waiting... lots to share in my records.
It is also for us to be familiarized and be warned what these forgers have made, because they themselves are also studying to make their infamous skill improve to near perfection.
If we have more pictures to discuss here, then the looks of counterfeits will be exposed on us thus lessen the chance of buying these fakes.
Delaner - This is a milestone should your idea be made possible, hope it will soon

I see no reason for adding a specific thread. Half of it will include coins that people Think are fake but aren't and then it won't get the proper attention that it deserves.

I voted "No" not because I think it's a bad idea, but my thinking is along the lines of GraceOutcast.

P.S. You could put every 19th century U.S. silver coin on the list and not even be half way done!

Wow - that seems like a great reason to do it!
So call the thread "Known Counterfeits" and mods remove threads from the ones that are incorrectly labeled...? If there are that many counterfeits in circulation, I'd sure like to know what to look for!
