Jumpin' jiminy! They've got that at XF, and I believe it to be at the very top end of that grading range...might even be AU details. Rim damage, ouch.

Doesn't this FAIL the 1916 diagnostics?
The head does not break the detailing inside of the rim as a 1916 should.
I see two hair strands, not one as the 1916 should have.
These are not my specialty so maybe I am missing something.

I don't think it fails the 1916 diagnostics. The pics don't show where the head meets the beads clearly, but it looks okay. 1916 does have a faint second spike in the hair. The garment below her right arm appears to graze the top of the shipboard, and it looks right at her right ankle. The weakness of shield rivets looks right, too. For those that haven't seen it: http://www.slqcoins.us/educational.htmlAll that said, I'd prefer to buy a coin of this caliber graded/authenticated by a TPG.

I think it is genuine. Though it doesn't show the "bead breaking" very clearly, I believe it is there. The hair curl looks ok. The 1916 has 2 hair curls too, it's just that the second one is much less defined and all but disappears in lower grades. The shield looks correct, and the robe folds look correct. Still, I wouldn't buy this coin unless certified.

Robe/Wall is correct too. One of the better looking examples I've seen.
I've looked at alot of their auctions (TECC) but have yet to purchase from them. They seem to have a solid rating though.

I'd be willing to take a risk on buying a raw coin like this from a well established company if a couple conditions were met. First, that it is selling for less than what a slabbed coin of the same grade would go for. Second, that they would give a full refund if the coin is determined to be counterfeit by a TPG. If those bases are covered (and I decide that the diagnostics look good on the images provided) I'd buy it if I had the money. By the way, in the description they say the coin has been lightly cleaned.

Heck yeah, my change was a 1916 SLQ, and a 1913 Liberty nickel. I spent them at the snack bar on beef jerky though.
