Very nice
Definitely in the MS group with original surfaces.
Also seems like lots of luster is still present.
MS-64

I take it back MS-65!

thanks all.. it does have LOTS of luster, with a slight light purple (almost pink) hue. It was my first experiment with axial lighting so I don't think I got the color exactly right, but it came out ok.

Thanks again

You took some well detailed photos! The problem though is that the detail is so good that you can see every little flaw...lol. So, the photos make me think MS-63; but in hand we are looking at a tiny round disc and those flaws will probably be non-existent....so MS-64 possible 65 if there is enough luster. I have a colorfully toned ex PCGS MS-62 dime that I would like to photograph like that...but here is the best I can get for now.

speaking of every little detail.... I was talking with my local "dealer" this past weekend, and he told me never look at a coin with more than a 7x glass/loupe , saying that it's what the TPGs would use and anything higher would be a waste, you will under grade your coins- opinions? should I start a new thread with this? or mods, please move if you think it should be

Well.. it depends on what you're looking for. Looking for varieties such as repunched mint marks or VAMs, the more detailed the better. For grading, you do need large & detailed - I just try to get as detailed as I can and most everyone here knows that the photographs add 10 pounds err.. show up every teeny bang and nick possible

Plus, sometimes you need the detail to see hairlines if they're there - the TPGs *always* (well, almost) catch those, no matter what loupe strength they use.

Those are good photos Johnny - it's hard catching the colors on the toned ones!

I was going to say high AU because it looks like rub on the reverse at the leaf at 10 o clock and the wheat berries at 11:30, but maybe that is reflection from the lighting.

If it is MS, I say MS65+. Johnny's spot on with his comment about how small those marks are.

Beautiful coin!
