Hi learned friends, Does anyone know the incidence of the mule 2000 25 cent obverse/millennium medallion reverse in the 12 coin + medallion set? I have a set and also wonder how one can check the medallion without wrecking the set or coin. Thanks, Wayne

Hi Wayne, I don't know how you would do that without wrecking the set,but maybe you could email/or get in contact with the mint? What is your Avatar?sn31.

if it is a set with the cardboard, you can just push on the back of the cardboard and the coin will fall out no problemo. just wear latex glover so as to not put marks on the coin. ebay almost always has one or two... but if you want to buy from a reputable dealer, be prepared to dish out a lot of dough. Charlton listed them as $1000 in 2002, which is the most up to date catalogue I have.

Thanks guys for your advice and info. I will have a look at the cardboard and see if the medallion can be popped out. sn31 - my Avatar is the Australian 2006 Royal Visit proof silver with gold highlights 50 cents. It came in a 2 coin set with the 80th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth II 50 cents which also had gold highlights. I particularly like this coin with the "growing" map of Australia. Wayne

Wow, nice to have. That is around $665 Australian.
My set was probably already checked by the dealer before he sold it. Oh well the quarters are nice. I wonder how the coins hold up for deterioration given that they are not sealed, just inserted into the cardboard holder.
What is the best way to store this large 2000 Millennium oval carboard set?

Ah, but mine came with no packaging. [:0] I was just given it in the coin shop's plastic bag.

Ok I did some more research... because I may want one as well! I found some for only $395 Canadian, thats $471.86 Australian. Better, but Ill keep looking for something cheaper. link is: http://www.cpnum.qc.ca/then scroll down and click where it says pages 2-21, and scroll to page 20. there is a red box promoting the coins.
