Hey guys! Day before yesterday, I went over to the grocery store. As usual, I "checked out" the coinstar. When I got to it, I saw a Canadian dime lying on the ground. As I stooped to pick it up -Heck it's free- I glanced in the reject tray and saw a dime! My heart skipped a beat, but I thought "Oh heck, nothing good like that will happen to me" As I pulled it out, I slid the edge toward me to get a good look. I saw solid WHITE staring me down. "SILVER!" I shouted, arousing various glances from people around me. So, I made out with a Canadian dime and a 1957D silver Roosevelt dime. I am so happy. Good luck all! - coincrazed

Cool beans.Be careful. The one on the floor could be considered bank theft.I would go back after hours and destroy the cameras, but that's just me.

Nice find! The closest coinstar to me is about 10 miles away and in the same shopping mall as my favorite coin shop. I always go out of my way to walk by it just in case. So far nothing found though...lol.

I've never found anything worthwhile in a coinstar. there's only 1 near us and we don't usually shop at the grocery store it's in. last time we were there my almost-two-year old was playing fiddling around in the coin return and came back with 2 dimes and a nickel...all regular, saying "coin, coin". She's starting young.

Quote: 1964 Rosie! Between winning my contest, finding silver quarters in arcades and silver dimes in your mom's coin purse, I'm just dying to see what you're like in 9 years. I wouldn't be at all surprised if you go to Las Vegas when you're 21, throw down your money on the poker table, and get a Royal Flush the first time you play. You are SO lucky! I wish I had a bit of your luck! Congratulations, my friend! - coincrazed

Wow, I have to pay attention on coin star now:) There are hundreds within 5 miles radius. At one time, I was interested to invest on that kind of machine, because of my high interest on coin hunting. But then I start to hear that they are rejecting silver coins. Is that why you can find silver coin?

Congratulations, we have several where I live but I never have any luck. That doesn't stop me from looking everytime though. I even have my wife looking.

Nice finds! I do check the "coinstar" (it is actually some other brand) when I go to the store (which is rare, thanks to my wife) because it sits right by the self-check lane that I use. I have not found anything yet, but that does not stop me from trying.

I haven't gotten any out of an actual coin star machine, but my bank's coin counter has yielded 3 silver roosies this year. It never hurts to check!
