Looking for recommendations on a really good book on Kennedy half dollars. Or maybe someone has a good web site? By really good book I mean something better than a picture, description = clad and mintage = ...

The above link is a great start, but I know what you mean, Coyote. All of the detailed coin books on Kennedys are out of print, and last one I know of was published about 20 years ago.

What we need is one of those Red Book series on the Kennedy half dollar, with detailed history and design/hub changes. As far as I know, there's no official documentation on the hub changes that have occurred since 1983, and the hub change in 1995 was pretty significant. I'd like to see these documented. Maybe I'll have to write it. I love the Kennedy series.

Lots of info on the start of the series. You can get lots of info on the 1964 version on Google. Coinage magazine had an issue devoted to it last fall.

But I agree with you. We need a new book. Maybe this is my chance to be a numismatist. After I learn how to spell that, I need to learn how to say it.

Thanks for the reply Fusiafinch, if you decide to write one, I'll take the first 10 copies off the press for myself and friends. I did try to google for "Books" before posting this. Got nothing from that. Your post gave me a thought (once a year thing) that I just need to google the "Coin/Subject" and start putting together internet random information. Again, thanks for your help.
