The Maria Theresa Thaler was used as a "world currency" for many decades and was still used in North Africa and the Middle East through the first half of the 20th century. Thalers have the date of 1780 on the reverse but the vast majority seen today are not contemporary to that time period and several hundred million have been minted since 1780 so most seen are only worth a little over silver value. There are subtle design differences that can be used to determine a time period but yours is encased in some sort of mounting that prevents the viewing of the reverse. I cannot tell you what time period it is from but even if yours was not a modern piece, the mounting would kill the numismatic value as it almost certainly has damaged the coin.

It's probably worth far more as a native piece of jewellery than the coin would be, even if the coin were undamaged.

Maria Theresa thalers were most commonly traded in the lands on either side of the Red Sea: the southern Arabian peninsula and the coast of Eritrea and Somalia. Pendants of this style seem to be commonly made in Yemen; see this website.
