I count this as one of my luckier recent purchases (this and the 1875 3CN shown in this forum). Personally, I don't see any rub on this coin offhand but I'm curious to know what you guys see. The coin has some fantastic surfaces and some die cracks (like the thin one near the date). One of the coolest 2-centers I've purchased in a looooooong time!

From what I understand, looks like a Lg. motto.

Its a thick date so probably one of the TPD varieties. I don't have my books to hand but I think I see some Clashing above the ribbon on the Rev which would indicate Breen 2376, KF-l26-TPD would need the coin in hand to be sure. Feel free to mail it to me for safe keeping..
Any rotation?
To many small hits and the gouge at 9 o'clock would stop this one from getting a high MS grade maybe 61 again I would need it in hand to be sure..

Yes, that does look like clashing above the ribbon. Does the variety demand any premium or is it fairly common?

If it is an L26 then it falls under the rare heading at around 15 samples reported in MS condition. And to a variety collector yes it would add a premium depending on the final grade.

The folks on the PCGS forum basically averaged the coin out at AU58. Many felt there ware too many marks on the reverse. I'm not sure that would preclude getting this coin into a MS62 holder, though. The luster is fair overall and I don't detect any rub. I'd probably resell this one day at nothing less than MS60 money due to a fantastic overall look and UNC details and no problems.

I can not tell between weak strike and MS. I would have said AU-58.
