$357,880.00 for a coin that grades F02! I don't think that there is any other US coin worth this much money in this condition.

It's a unique variety, so I guess the price is what someone is willing to pay for it. The Goldberg catalog for the Holmes early dates estimated 150,000+, I suspect it went for much more.
