Someone else asked my opinion and I can't make up my mind.

I have a couple of these (one wide one narrow) and my zeros seem further away than the one in this photo. It has a position like a wide over narrow zero but it looks way too close....

The rest of the coin looks OK diagnostically I think.

Thoughts?

I was always under the impression that the wide '0' is in reference to the inside circle of the '0'. When you say 'further away', are you talking about how close it is to the '8'? They would be a 'far 0' then?

In any case, it looks like a wide 0 to me.

That coin would probably grade fine so the guy has a $450 coin and he's holding it in his bare hand and pressing down on the rim picture! Finger prints and oil transfer. :(

Right, the zero looks way to close to the eight.

I have that book and some others, plus two real coins. All the zeros look further way from the eight than what's in that picture.

Head scratcher.

Thanks DBM. Appreciate that. Good information.

As an aside I wish they had a better forum format. It's not technically difficult.
