Hello. I came across this dime with letters that almost run together. Below are pictures of the coin with fat letters and a normal one for comparison. Could this be any kind of doubling?

Thanks for your input.

Probably just good old fashioned Die Deterioration, but it might help to know the year/mm. Notice the lack of detail on the torch. I see a lot of these "mushy" strikes on Roosies.

Wait for a pro to confirm.

Good eye.

Good chance it's more than Die Deterioration. Look very closely at the sides of each letter to see if there's anything that resembles doubling.

I see the extra thickness of the dot between E and PLURIBUS and I see a die chip (or something) between PLURIBUS UNUM

Hers's an image of a 64-D doubled die reverse ( DDR).

I dont know if this link will stay in my post. I found the above image at:

Am I missing something or do I see no mention of the date or mint in the originator's post that would give some clue as to what they have?

Looks to me like the two comparison coins are from different years. That's apples and oranges. The design was modified slightly every few years - comparing a dime from two different years for exact details placement is wasting your time.

The coin in question is most likely Die Deterioration combined with a worn hub.

without matching dates, any comparison between coins is irrelevant

no, copper; you're not missing anything. I was hoping to hear (and prompt) what the date of the coin was.
