Back on the 7th I entered on a trade with Chris, 2 cents and a SASE for 2 cents. Chris notified me on the forum, that the SASE was never delivered. Immediately filled out another one, added 2 more cents and dropped off at the P.O. One came back yesterday. Never made it out of N.C., postmarked from Charlotte. Envelope was folded and both the address and return were mine. No explanation, nothing. Coins were not loose, taped vinyl holder inside 2 sheets of copy paper. Now to add insult to injury, they cancelled both 44 cent stamps on an empty, unsealed envelope. Just a rant.

I've got one. Not sure if the mint or the post office is at fault here.
I ordered 2 veteran commemoratives and 3 BSA commemoratives. According to the USPS tracking number, the veteran ones were sent here, sent back, and shipped again. No notice was left on my door or mailbox or anything. Finally, the mail man left them on my balcony. The BSA uncirculated coin was left with the veteran ones. The proofs were shipped, returned and shipped again. Once again, other than tracking it online, I was never notified. After being notified that the mint was reshipping them, they refunded the charge to my credit card. A couple days later, the coins showed up. I honestly have no idea what the problem is. My address is right. I get packages through USPS all the time. I think I am supposed to sign for these. I assume they'd just leave an orange/pink card and make me pick it up at the post office.

I'm lucky that way as I live in a one horse town and the postmaster lady is kinda sexy.Hehehehe. Any problems she tells me immediately.I have been places that the first post office that the package enters doesn't catch the postage VS weight. I have seen a package come back from the other side of the country to tell me that I was 12 cents short. If you have the little sticker that they sent on the envelope, keep it on and add the extra. They will let it go even if they are cancelled.

It is the NC postal workers is way you are having problems. Here outside Kinston, I have to go looking for any packages that may not fit in my very large mail box. My mail lady will put them in the seat of my truck if it is raining if not then it will go on the hood. Sometimes I'll find them laying at the front door to the garage, other times, if it is a substitute driver, I'll find them at the front door. Gamefly games are the biggest loss item at my post office. It got so bad they will not send anything to area zip codes anymore.

Here's one... My wife sent a package to Spokane Washington. Tracking followed from where I live in Pa to Newark NJ out to Wa. then fell off the map for about a week, the rescanned back in Newark, where it stayed for roughly 2 weeks. After several phone calls and multiple rants to the usps, finally, two weeks later it was scanned as delivered. (It also could have been Jersy city not Newark, but still they are close enough)

Hasn't really changed much since the Pony Express.I had a letter come from Tampa to Phoenix and it took 2 weeks.Guess the horse needed to rest a few days.I sent a large envelope to one of the members here with 4 Walking halves,2 quarters and a roll of cents. He received the envelope torn almost in half, empty of course, with a note that said "sorry" from the post office.

Several years ago I sent a manuscript in a large envelope to New York; tracking showed that it might have gone to Rutland, VT (!?) Agents tend to ignore follow-up letters and e-mails, so it wasn't until a YEAR later that I received a decline from the agent and was sure that she'd received the manuscript - in spite of what USPS tracking showed.
I publish a radio club magazine and (until we moved the printing and mailing operations to another location) was 99 94/100's satisfied with the performance of the USPS in getting the magazine to its destinations; we mailed out about 26,000 pieces per year. However, my two pet peeves: (1) I could always tell when the person in New Orleans who handled mail to the Dominican Republic went on vacation; for several years straight we'd get the copy sent to our member in Santo Domingo returned, marked "unknown address" or something like that. And (2) when we'd get copies sent back marked "Undeliverable As Addressed" to addresses to which we'd sent copies for years with no problems - and when I'd email the addressee, he'd confirm that the house had not been moved off the lot nor had it burnt down.

The sooner the USPS is out of biz, the better off we'll be. Some private Co. will come in and do it bigger and better.
