The sure way would be the British Royal Mint (you can google it and get on their website), but that's quite spendy. I'm looking for those myself and waiting for the coins to seep through the system and arrive in bigger numbers to the US. |

The first year of issue was 2008 and it is possible to build a set from circulation if you know someone who lives in the UK. The only way to obtain a complete 2009 Royal Shield set is to purchase a set made by The Royal Mint since no 50 pence coins were released for circulation for 2009. Have not seen any 2010 coins in circulation over here in the UK. |

I have a cousin in the UK, but no one has a way to contact her. I've never met her, not even my uncle knows how to contact her. Last time my mother talked to her is when she had her first child.

fioti, I would love to buy that, but I can't because my parents don't let me go on auctions...maybe like 10 minutes before time runs out...i might have to be off the computer by then...

I'm gonna keep an eye on it. I didn't know they existed before your post. I have heard of "jigsaw' coins, but had no idea,they're neat. Bot, I learned something today, you get my teacher of the day award. I saw the gold ones, unreal.

I do like the shield design, I have a complete set of the 2008 coins. A friend from the UK got them for me last year. 2008 1 Pound  the rest of the 2008 coins in shield lay out  |

Blessed are those who have a friend in the UK!  I'm gradually getting there. At the moment I have just 50p and 1L missing. |

So far 2008 is the only year that you can complete the entire Royal Shield set from circulation.
I have not heard of anyone finding a 2009 50 Royal Shield 50 pence in circulation.
For 2010, I am still missing a 2 pence, 10 pence, 50 pence, and the £1 coins.

I have found 2010 2p and loads of £1 coins. Not sure about 50p because of the olympic coins and I have not looked for 10p.
