jprine Pillar of the Community United States 1599 Posts	Posted 06/01/2010 9:40 pm A friend at work who knows I collect wanted me to look at this coin today. He thought that it did not look right. I weighed the coin and it weighs 6.2 grams instead of 6.3, not much difference there; but the coin does not look right to me either; something about the color....just does not feel right. The quarter does look "odd" to me, but that might be the photo. I am interested in seeing other opinions on this one. jprine Pillar of the Community United States 1599 Posts	Posted 06/02/2010 8:24 pm The color in the pics are pretty close to the color in hand; it looks like aluminum. It may be very ok, but I just cant get used to the color. And-the drop test produces a much different sound. I dropped the pic coin and a 1961 from the same height and the pic coin produces a sound much higher than the 1961. Certainly not worth sending in for authentication, but, I may see if the owner wants to sell it. Libertad-I have a Fast Weight M-5000 scale. Several other Washingtons (showing much more ware) also weighed 6.2. Report this Post to the Staff

I reported that I was not sure, but it did not look right. Anyway, he gave it to me-he knows how much I love coins. Kinda wish he had a wheel barrow full. Report this Post to the Staff
