First time posting here, long time lurker. This seems to be an outstanding community of friendly numismatists and I've enjoyed educating myself through your expertise. Hopefully I can contribute sometime in the future as well, but for right now I need some help determining whether or not I should bother having this coin professionally graded. It's a 1927 quarter eagle I picked up on ebay and to me, it appears to be a low MS coin. There are some small toning spots on the obverse which knocks it down a bit, but the luster looks strong and there doesn't appear to be any rub or wear on the coin. Take a look and let me know what you think.

I used to collect the $10 Indians, and have very minimal experience with the smaller denomination, But in my opinion, you should grade it, and if just to make sure is not a counterfeit.
second thing is, because unlike most coins this is engraved design, and one need to have the experty with this specific issue to be consistent on the grade...

Go ahead and submit it for grading. It looks very nice and should go 62 or 63. Even it if it only grades MS61, it is more than worth the grading fees to have it authenticated and in an MS holder.

The gold indians are probably one of the toughest coins out there to grade, especially through a picture do to the way they are struck. From looking at the first photo, the area below liberty, I have doubts that this coin is MS. If I were buying it from a pictue (which I never would) I wouldn't pay over AU money for it. Like I said, tough to grade these from a photo, heck sometimes its tough to grade them in your hand. It well worth $25 to take a shot.
