I just got back from auction and I bought this pair.I just want to make sure paid decent price.White dots are only on picture not on coins.

Yea I think are from when the founders were issuing their own currency before congress established a standard. I know for sure that Washington, Jefferson and Franklin all made their own paper and hard currencies, can't remember who else though.

A lot of them did this with their own money to support and stimulate the economy. Wonder if your government would ever do that now. LOL

Twenty years ago, I bought a few of these in the $60-$75 range. I agree with Adam_E on the $125 figure. Retail, maybe $150, each. Both are nice coppers.

You may want to check out a copy of Breen's Encyclopedia as he lists a number of varieties for this Washington token. If one of yours is a better variety, a specialist would pay more than the average price. These tokens were made in England in the 1820's or later if recollection serves me.
