Today it is my 12 S liberty that I stumbled across. Bought it in a lot, it was marked as a 12 D, got it home and it's a 12 S!

Classic US Gold pretty much like all series gold, capped bust all series, Buffalo nickel, 3 cent silver, ect. It changes with the wind.

It all depends......If its gold I really love the quarter and half Indian Head Eagles. If we are talking US type coins then the Indian Head cent and Liberty Head Nickel are probably my favorites.

I have a $3 princess that was passed down to me through the family. It has always been my favorite coin.

I have a hang up for Standing Liberty quarters for right now. Trying to convince my self to start a SLQ Dansco, but, no cash. "No mon no fun!"

My absolute favourites are usually world coins, but when I saw this topic I had to toss in my two cent's worth! From the US coins, my favs have to be the Flying Eagle cents. Walking halves have always been beautiful too.

Mercury dimes are holding my attention at the moment. They seem like a bargain.

Current favorite? Barber quarters. Been "toying" with the set for a few years now. Filled three holes at work the other day and it's getting much tougher. Nine to go. Purchase before those was a nice 1833 Bust Dime. Original and grades around VF30. Realized I needed it for my type set and I really don't have a type set I just like to add decent examples. Sooooo... current favorites are Barber quarters and whatever else strikes my fancy and is affordable. This is a beautiful thing about being a coin collector.

Large cents. I really do adore each the different styles thoroughly. I am a goofy history buff too so such periods as late 17XX, then Beginning 18XX, then 1830s, 50s into 60s...each period has such an interest and significance because of the events and the history surrounding them I remain captivated with them year after year.
If I absolutely had to pic a single favorite coin, It would be hard. But The 93 chain/wreath, and Fugios hold a very special place in my interests. Followed shortly by some of the braided hair large cents. But same could be said about almost all early coppers. The Kentucky's, Connecticut's, Massachusetts cents and all the fun early attempts where individuals took the ball and went running fascinates me. WM tokens for instance are hilarious to me. Most all early coppers have such a great and rich history I am drawn almost exclusively to them.
Don't know why, don't know when or where such a nerve got struck with them to me, but even as I type this I get all jazzed about the history in them. Sort of a patriotic/detective solving/adoration for the beauty/recognition for the attempts/respect for the foresight all wrapped into my collecting habits.
SOrry for being so long winded on a simple question..
If its early and made of Copper..well then I like it.
