Hi,

I have a quick question.
Could anyone tell me when this coin I have was graded?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...370474835305
What's the value on this? I put a price of $2,899.99-$3,499.99, but honestly I have no clue. (Of course my scanner is not working tonight, but I will try to post pictures tomorrow).

I found a ton of older coins in my father's garage two years ago...right around the time of the Orlando Coin Show. I ended up bringing in the batch, which included over 200 Brilliant Uncirculated 1880s Morgan dollar's WITH TREMENDOUS RAINBOW tones on all...I ended up selling to a dealer for $20.00 each...Little did I know that their value was tremendously HIGHER(Saw he ended up selling a bunch for over $1,000.00 each on ebay afterwords...)! About the only huge REGRET I have in life. :) (I've since learned a ton about the Silver/Gold markets, but still do not know much about the old coin values or how to really grade them).
The dealer also offered me $2,600.00 for this 1875 Carson City 20c MS61 that I kept out of the batch and some dealers said that I should regrade this since it has the old label and that it appears to be in MUCH better condition than a 61.

I see the PCGS 64 on the website and I can't honestly see why this one is any different...if not better than the one pictured on their site. I will try to post high resolution photos soon.
Rest in Peace

That dealer who bought them for $20 each, if they were really 'monster' toned coins was a jerk...

65 out of the 200 had massive rainbow tones. Again, worst decision I've ever made. Knowledge is certainly power and I had no idea what I had. This coming from someone who had been buying/selling baseball cards for years and knew exactly the difference between MINT and GEM MINT...with coins...I was completely lost.

All I know is I hope there's another coin show in Orlando so I can see him again. :)

When I called him upset that he took advantage of me, he offered me a "stock tip" to make up for it. He said he showed me "The Dealer Exclusive Price Guide" and that it would have taken me forever to sell online...Again, like you said, Total Jerk.

As for the 1875 CC, I have attached a scan. Obviously not as clear as I had hoped.

I will consider ending the auction early and trading for Silver Coins.

Let me know if interested. Will trade in your favor.

Thanks

You're too low on CCF posts to trade here now. If you can get some better images of your 20 cent piece, you might have a chance to get $2600 out of it. Please post new images when you can. Best of Luck!

If you are trying to sell a multi-thousand dollar coin, you have to get better and larger images. Even if I had the money to bid on a coin of type, I would pass on by simply because of the poor quality scans.
