I don't think acetone will help. If anything, try a soak in distilled water followed by xylene. However, I doubt you'll see much difference....you may want to just leave it alone. I like it how it is.

i didnt realize coins like these get AU-55.. no luster needed?

There is some luster on it when you roll it around in the light. Like I said in an earlier post its subdued.

Acetone - no.

The coin is AU, probably a 55 considerig the hit on the luster by the stuff on the reverse, and the overall lack of "life" on the obverse.
