Hello everyone,

I have read the posts and I must agree that it is very hard to get prices on Canadian coins. I have spent the last 3 hours looking for prices of coins that I have.

My father pasted away recently and I am trying to find out the prices of his coins. They are mostly Canadian coins so I thought I would give it a try, here at the forum.

I have included a picture of a 1985 Canadian Silver Dollar - The Voyageur design (canoe). My father has five of them. I did read though that usually the coins should be protected in one way or another. I cleaned them all up and they look great. Before I sell these 5 Silver dollars I need to know the price or maybe I should wait? I don't really know.

I would appreciate all information about this 1985 Canadian Silver Dollar.

Thanks a bunch!

Ladyisis

Hi Ladyisis, you should never clean coins!!! You can reduce the value of your coins extremely by improper cleaning. Unfortunately, your 1985 coins have no silver in them and would not be worth much more than face value.

Here's a coin like yours for sale on ebay. ebay is a good place to find out what your coins can be worth.

Thank you both. I did not know that so I am glad that you mentioned I should not clean the coins.

And by checking on ebay I can see the price is worth only $1.00.
Thanks again everyone.

I will continue to look through my father's coins.
