Bought a bulk lot and this was in it. Lower word is "MEXICO", I guess. It's been around awhile, the stamping is nearly gone. Any help?

It looks like mexican silver. Half the time mexican silver is sterling silver and half the time it is some sort of base metal. Sterling silver is 92.5% silver with a 7.5% copper fill. Not sure what the stone is.
Rest in Peace
