I would bet a large date, that what he has is a small date. But I hope I'm wrong if you have any chance of getting it for a good price :)

you got it, small date.. and he's like others you hear of, 1969 is my birth year, asked him when he showed it to me the first time if he'd trade it for a US dime, or what he would want.. NOPE, he thinks there's more to it-worth a fortune ! when I asked again tonight to see it, and saw the small date, told him why it was a small date, and told him I had a link showing what it's worth vs. the large date- so, maybe in the next few days I can get it for a buck i did tell him if it was a large date I would have found a buyer- for a small fee

I'm new to this forum and a very amateur coin collector. I have a coin that I think might be the large date 1969 Canadian Dime. It's in pretty rough shape. I have a picture but I'm not sure how to attach it here. Thanks

the line up on the six is almost straight up to the hook, whereas the small date(the common one), is a rounded six.

I took a close up picture and it turns out to be a 1968 with damage to the 8. With the naked eye it really looks like a 9. I asked about 5 people and they all said it was a 9, but when I got a good close up picture its obviously a damaged 8. Oh well, too good to be true I guess.
