Here are two recent wins from ebay.

The first is an excellent example of a silvered brass 2R coin date 1863. These coins are usually found with less of the silvering intact. They were produced in Mexico for local used and were made before the 1890s.

The second coin is also a "Contemporary Circulating Counterfeit" - this one was made before 1845. It is listed in Riddell's "Monograph of the Silver Dollar" as number 333. It is a scarce counterfeit - this is only the second I have encountered in the past ten years.

Kid - I don't know what you meant by your question. If you can clarify it a bit I will try to answer it. Are you wondering how a counterfeit is detected? Or are you asking how you detect a counterfeit of a counterfeit?

A counterfeit counterfeit is not such a strange idea at all. It happens often and counterfeit collectors are also fooled by forgeries. There are a few modern fakes from China that are actually copies of contemporary counterfeits. They are essentially worthless copies of contemporary collectable counterfeits. They target novice collectors of counterfeits who can not spot the differences. That is a highly technical issue and may be far beyond what you are asking.
