I went metal detecting and have found a Bradford town hall 1872 grand opening coin or medal any ideas on price? and also a George 1911 coronation medal or coin again it has the British coat of arms on back of the it,it also has the king and queens head on it. that's all.

I can not help you with identification nor value of these pieces but can tell you in order to be considered a coin it should have a denomination on the piece. If there is not denomination on it then it is some type of medal. Coins were meant to be spent and have to have a value on them somewhere (except some ancient coins that may not have a denomination). At least every coin I have ever seen had a denomination telling how much that specific coin was worth so when you went to buy something you and the merchant would know the cash value of the coin

Most of British coins up to around 1860 did not have the denomination stated on them! They could be distinguished only by size, metal content, and certain elements of the design.

But, thank God for catalogs! We can look up what coins have been produced in the past. Lewishaloboy, what you describe doesn't sound like coins. They are indeed either medals or commemorative tokens. If you desire more information post the pictures. Someone may be able to help you with that.

Ill add a picture in a bit I just don't know what they are iv seen alot of George commemorative coins or even medals but none are same a mine also it was found in a farmer's Field by a metal detector.
