Nice detail on the front. However, there is little that you can do. Try soaking it in olive oil for a few months and see if that helps, but don't get your hopes up.

The colouring suggests some on has tried to improve it in the past. Acetone might help but I doubt it very much You could try Olive oil but I am thinking year not months. With maybe some trips to an ultra sonic cleaner.

Into Olive oil it goes!

I'll post pictures in the future.

(I really think the reverse is too far gone with corrosion, however...)

Too far gone, yes, but by all means do your best to arrest whatever may still be working on that coin. It's rare enough to preserve for the future, in whatever state.

In cleaning ancient coins, oil soaks for (LONG TIMES) do help. I would try a distilled H20 soaking, changing the water every week or so for a few months... it might come back.

I have had better luck with water than oil though...

Well, it's been in Olive Oil for almost 2 months...

Does it look any different to anyone?

It looks the same to me. Sorry Moe, I think that coin is beyond repair, but it's still a very cool variety with great detail!

Would this coin be a good candidate for any of the VERDI line of products?

You should not condemn it so soon. two months in olive oil is nothing... To see results could take years..
Patience
