I've been taking new photos of some of my coins, trying to get sharper images that capture toning and details more clearly. This IHC is a real beauty and this time I think the colors came out pretty close to how the coin appears in-hand.

The colors are too good to be true, however. I sent this coin to ICG for grading about 8 years ago and they reported it had been cleaned long ago and had since "naturally re-toned". I'm not sure how they can be sure the tone is natural but that was their opinion.

In any case, it's one colorful IHC!

Certainly looks to be UNC. How would they know it was cleaned?
A real beauty.

It looks like it was dipped and then retoned in an old Wayte Raymond album, known for producing similar vivid rainbow target toning. The center is just a little too orange for a natural RD coin which is what leads me to believe that it was dipped.

How is the luster? If that beauty still cartwheels under the light, an old "dipping/cleaning" wouldn't bother me at all.
