here is a 1997P Lincoln. it seems to have been Struck Through Grease. the bottom right corner of the memorial, as well as the designers initials, are almost completely missing. the question is what is happening in the statue bay. there is something slighty above his right shoulder, and there is also something near the bottom of that same bay, could this be a die clash? otherwise nothing particularly noteable about this coin. thanks for looking.

Is it raised? It could be something on the coin. It is is pushed into the field, then it would just be damage. Looks like something on the coin or a stain? A lot happens to circulated coins.

both areas in the bay are raised. the color variation is probably a stain, as you mentioned. the coin is for the most part - little more than ordinary, apart from the raised areas inside the statue bay.
