Looks very similar to 1982P-1DO-001, except this one is zinc. How strange would that be?

SD, as you know I am no pro but this coin looks like a normal '82 to me, I see no doubling. John1

that LIBERTY definately looks doubled to me. May be a new variety. I'll be looking back to see what Chuck says about this one.

The spread on Liberty would seem to have to be doubled. That is not normal. PM Chuck and ask him to look. Jim

It looks really similar to #001, like I said. The weird part is just a few days ago, I asked if it was possible for one of those DDO's/DDR's to be struck on the opposite planchet, and was told that it was not likely. So, I'm not sure what I'm hoping for more. A new variety? Or die #001 on a zinc planchet? Either way, I'm just hoping! I'm not going to bother Chuck with a PM, he's pretty regular on here. I'm sure he will be along soon to shoot me down again - LOL!

Matt, is that a zinc or copper cent?
Also, your spread looks like it might be slightly different than mine.

It kinda looked copper, https://www.coppercoins.com on the upper left side of the page click die variety search, then the year and mm on the next page. You can check for any identifying markers.

Ok, here is the real deal: Also images of the normal one to compare it with to a normal coin. Scooby's coin look interesting on the LIBERTY, but the rest of the coin is normal. Matt's coin appears to be pressed to widen the devices maybe through a leather strap or just circulation damage?

Okay, Scooby's coin looks like a "possible" - and my reason for saying that is the horizontal thickness of the letter are in LIBERTY and the oblong shape and appearance of the G of GOD.
Gutowski's coin is a normal cent that is somewhat softly struck, which can make some of the lettering appear a little thicker than normal.
Having said all that, I have beat down more of these than I care to mention - most of them were coins I had pulled out thinking they could be something until I had a number of othrs to compare them to. What I have to see in order to call these doubled dies is notching in at least one of a few key areas or definite separation lines somewhere on the devices. With Scooby's coin, it appears those separation lines just "might" be there.
BTW, this is the main reason the cents were changed to small date in 1982 - the master hub had worn out, the lettering was pancaking out, getting thick, and just messy.

Thanks Chuck!
What should I do next? Should I try to get better pictures, or do you need to see it in hand?
