I believe that to be a doubled die from what I can see, but I am not ready to accept packages just yet. Please keep me in mind and contact me near the end of July for instructions. You might just find something else to include in the package by then.

Thank you....Chuck

Great find, Scooby, best of luck with it. The second pics really show it.

My first opinion: I think it's normal and that LIBERTY was struck with pitting surrounding it, that condition compromising the strike...the very close-ups arent focused enough to see detailed profiles of LIBERTY letters.

I have both 1982 Lincoln cents. Small date is a D. no mint mark on the large date. Here is my question. The small dated cent has a clear stamp of the state of Massachusetts. The large date cent has a stamp of the state of Maryland. Both states are stamped and located to the right of Lincoln's nose. I believe the coins are non-commemorative coins made by a private company or person. Any help. Thanks.

First of all, to the forum!

It sounds like your coins have been counter-stamped. You can find them with all kinds of crazy stuff. But, pictures are welcome and helpful, and you may want to just start another thread.

Scooby, thanks for the welcome. I had no idea what the coins were until you used the correct coin lingo...counter-stamped. I googled it and found tons of info. It seems they mad novelty sets. Thanks. I guess if you ask the right person you get the correct answer.
