I recently got that halfcrown from a dealer's junk bit at about US 1,5 $. Please see and comment if that damage on the coin is pre or post-mint.. I strongly think it is post mint but I welcome and need addinational comments. Thank you.

Hello, to also confirm, the damage on the reverse of the UK half-crown is undoubtedly post mint.

It is not uncommon for coins of this type to be defaced in this manner. In this case it was the Scottish lion that was damaged, but the English lions were frequently scratched by unsympathetic Scots or Irish as a mild political or nationalist protest. And the Irish harp can be found damaged on some coins, particularly just post 1916.
