In the 1970's The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations {FAO) issued a medal in its Ceres series to honour Shirley Temp;e Black. The silver version weighed 50 geams. and if I remember correctly 2000 copies of this medal were produced.

Later a double size 100 gram medal was produced (only 2 copies) and I have one of these two. I thought you might like to see it.

That is very nice. Do you think that Shirley Temple has the other 100 gram medal? Thanks for sharing,

Generally, medals with such low production were given to dignataries. How did you come by it?

I used to be the person responsible for the production of medals at FAO before I retired a couple of years ago.

You are right that the medals in the Ceres and also Agricola series were presented to dignataries. Ususally a gold, silver and bronze version was produced However a number of copies of these medals were also sold with the permission of the person concerned to raise funds for the purposes of the Organization such as various projects throughout the world.

As far as the other large medal is concerned it was not given to Shirley Temple and I believe that it is owned by somebody in Canada.
