Middlesex 370a Issued by the Black Horse public house on Tower Hill. It was owned by James Sketchley who was a Mason. (Sketchley died in 1801) The dies were engraved by Roger Dixon of Birmingham in Warwickshire county. They were struck by William Lutwyche also of Birmingham. Mintage for the 369, and 370 variety tokens (all edges) was 25,750 pieces or about 550 pounds of copper. The obverse commemorates the election of the Prince of Wales to the Masonic office of Grandmaster on Nov 24th 1790. The reverse is a typical masonic design. It is considered to be a common token and in this condition maybe $15 to $18.
