i was going through some coins in my "need-to-look-at-again-when-my-eyes-aren't-crossed-from-sqinting-at-coins-for-hours" pile.
I looked at this rough little lincoln and thought I spotted an "S" under all the crud and corrosion. What looks like a mint mark seems really close to the "0". I took a pic through a loop and it looks a little clearer. any opinions? and no, there's no VDB on the reverse, although the reverse is in pretty rough shape too. this'll just fill a hole in my LWC folder.

I am no pro but isn't that "supposed" S in the wrong location? Too far to the right?. Maybe you should e-mail BadThad with a photo and ask him.

How do you know the location is way off? How many dies were used for the 09-S and what were all the position locations? I know there were only four for the SVDB, but there are probably a lot more for all the 09-S dies.

someone point badthad in the direction of this thread, I could really use an expert eye. I still have a gaping hole in the 1909s spot in my folder and need to know if I can finally plug it.
