Should someone rather new to the hobby get this book? I already own the 2011 Carlton Standard Catalogue. Thanks

I own the book and its not bad. D's link above is really good for comparing your coins to and you should be able to grade your coins pretty accuratly with that site. If thats all you want to do, you do not need the book. If you want to know exactly what to look for on each effigy then the book is interesting. The book circles wear spots on a blow-up of each Canadian denomination with text explaining for each grade.
