I see that Dansco has albums for the presidents and the State Quarters that only fit one coin state/president. Is anyone doing these albums? Are they focused on proofs for these, or just P or D, or mixing it up? I would like to see a pic of the inside of these albums, but it seems that most online stores only show the cover. I also note that the Dansco state series does not include the territories. Is this correct? Anyone know whether this is an oversight, or whether it will be part of the parks series? thanks.

As I stated in another thread, I have settled on using the date set album for my proof Presidential dollars (I have given up trying to collect the P/D dollars because they do not circulate well around me; and when I do find them, they look rough). The DC & Territorial quarter series is a completely different series. It is not a part or extension of the Statehood Quarter series, nor is it part of the American The Beautiful (a.k.a. National Parks) series. Dansco has created separate albums ( with and without proof) for this series. Dansco will not be "correcting" the Statehood albums because they do not need to be. However, one can easily acquire just the Territorial page and add it to their Statehood Quarter album. This is what I have done.

As a family, we completed a state/territories set, one coin each, for a wall display. When Coinman1014 picked up a folder map for the Statehood Quarters ( https://goccf.com/t/65803#65803), we made a note of which mintmarks we already had, and began looking for the others. That set is almost done, although we haven't found any of the D-mint territories (or DC) except for Puerto Rico (for which we haven't found a P!) They're not Dansco albums, but the idea is the same.

I am going to use the Capital Plastic 12x12 holders, white for clad, black for silver, for my 50SQ proofs, all of which I got individually from dealers. (No cracking here!) I found it was 10%-35% cheaper than buying the uncracked 5 quarter sets. I am not sure how the paper backing on the Danscos would tarnish the obverses on the proofs. For uncircs, the Danscos are just fine, though.

I did the year set of Quarters in silver proofs and it looked amazing. I have never really liked the sate Quarter series but if I was to collect them It would be silver proofs in a Dansco

Wizard Coin Supply sells (and shows) all of the replacement pages for the Dansco albums. I plan on picking up the P&D page for the Territories quarters and adding it to the state album, rather than paying for the entire album for just one page. You can see it here http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/pro...ement-pages/

Jokingjoker, yes I am aware that the Danscos are lIke the Whitman coin album with plastic slides on either side of the coin row. My problem was the Dansco albums made in the 60s and 70s, I had a BU silver Washington quarter set that turned from bright silver cartwheel luster to dull brown and lifeless, but they had been in the album for more than 20 years, so I bet it was not the plastic in the slides that caused the problem, but the gradual deterioration of the cardboard page with probably gave off gases sealed in by the plastic slider. Not sure if the newer Danscos are more "archival" than the albums made 40-50 years ago, but I give fair warning to other numismatists that these albums aren't the best long term storage solution for any brilliant coins.

Although I cannot speak for the 40~50 year old albums, I can say that my oldest Dansco albums are approaching 26 years old. No problems, no complaints. This is where Just Carl usually pops in and talks about his 50~60 year old Whitman albums...
