VF-35 scratched, bad obverse strike. Leaf detail and corn kernels on reverse make me think its not a lower grade coin.

I would agree with the shadow,, the dark toning tends to hid the overall appearance but the details are there, vf35 looks good, too bad its scratched, don't know what the net grade would be there...

I agree with shadow on the grade and scratches, but also feel that the coin is unfortunately corroded.

VF30. Scratched,corroded,cleaned. The rims have obvious corrosion @ 12 and 3 reverse.

Thank you for clearing that up, Vermontensium! So you'd call it a net vf30?
Curious, what are the tell-tale signs here that spell corrosion? The slight darkening that looks like the metal is eaten?

I don't think corrosion is so much darkness, as pitting. There might be pitting, or it might be small rim dings, I am not really sure here.

Curious, what are the tell-tale signs here that spell corrosion? The slight darkening that looks like the metal is eaten? When the dark area is raised on the surface and bumpy/rugged as shown on this dime, it is almost certainly corrosion. I think the scratches and possible light cleaning was probably someones attempt to remove the corrosion. I would say that the coin has VF-30/35 details, but the market grade would be lower due to the problems. How much lower is very subjective, but I would net it around F-15 or so.

I agree with Johnny above, VF-30 details, F-15 net as far as market value goes.

Yes, as far as the FMV of this coin is concerned, I would agree that it would move for approx. F15 money.

I agree with the VF details. Nice assessment of the reverse condition by Shadow Creator. Coin is corroded (both sides and rims) probably dragging it down to net VG. Too bad. Otherwise, it's a nice coin and/or a hole filler for someone.
