I was sold this as a specific grade and I have no qualms with what the seller said it was. What do you think of my recent Half Cent acquisition?

First of all, looks to be original with no problems. I'd call this one VF25.
Nice.

I'll split the difference and say VF20.

:)

The hairband is distinct and some of the stars actually show a little center detail--they're not all completely smooth.

Its probably a little better than F-15 if its a weak strike.

I bought this from Earlycoppercoins with the refund money I got by returning a recently purchased 1828 13 star Half Cent that I also posted here for opinions a couple weeks ago. I am so much happier with this coin.
This was represented as VF, no more than that, so I would say it is most likely deserving of VF20 grade and I am making it my type coin for the type set.

The Early American Copper guys will have a better feel for this one than I, but I would have said VF-30. A super original coin with nice surfaces and a great purchase. Congrats.

Coin arrived today and is better than the picture. Much darker and those small imperfections don't stick out as much as in the images. I don't think I could take a better picture though. I am very happy with it.

12 stars is $106 in VF-20 according to numismedia. They're a little higher, so I'll say $90. Anyway 12 stars are much much tougher than 13, so you got a good deal too I think.
