Sap Moderator Australia 16831 Posts	Posted 07/16/2010 03:16 am It's a Sales Tax Token for 1Â½ mils (a mil is 1/10th of a cent). Fifteen states issued tokens over a period from about 1935 to 1960. The American Tax Token Society website has lots of background info, including an excellent timeline of usage in the various states.
