As I was looking for the bead size on a bunch of 65 cents I came across this one where the letters D, G, R, E, G, I, N, A are all doubled fairly significantly. Likely this is Machine Doubling right? Could I ask... why only some letters would be doubled and not all, I realize this is a dumb question but I have been wondering. thanks. Either way out a whole lot of 65's this was the only one like this.

I think all the 1965 large beads are like that?

Wow you got me nervous, I went back and looked at the ones in the book and sure enough the first large bead is just like it but the other is not. However the first small bead is doubled all the way around, all the letters even more than the photos attatched in my first post. Made me double check the pointed 5's just to make sure I had put them in the right spots.... all seems fine..

with MD...the low relief of the second image is one clue, another is a lack of serif separation in the legends.

No added value to a machine doubled coin. If it's a major MD I will keep it for the cool factor.
